Body concern

Cellulite & Body Contour

Cellulite involves fibrous connective tissue bands, fat distribution and poor microcirculation. Body contouring treatments target these structural mechanisms directly, diet and exercise alone cannot.

Understanding the cause

What's happening in your skin

01

Structural, not a weight problem

Very lean, physically active people can have significant cellulite. The driver is fibrous tissue architecture, not fat volume.

Cellulite forms when fibrous connective tissue bands (septa) tether the dermis downward while fat lobules push upward between them. Poor microcirculation compounds this by impairing fluid drainage. The driver is the fibrous architecture, not how much fat is present.

02

Diet and exercise cannot release septa

Diet and exercise shrink fat cells. They cannot release tethered septa or restore localised microcirculation.

Caloric deficit causes fat cells to shrink, which may modestly reduce pressure between bands. It cannot release tethered septa, restore microcirculation or alter the structural arrangement pulling the dermis downward. These are tissue-architecture problems requiring tissue-level solutions.

03

Addressing the architecture directly

EMTONE is one of the few treatments that targets all four contributing factors of cellulite simultaneously in a single session.

EMTONE combines radiofrequency energy with targeted pressure waves to address fibrous band remodelling, collagen production, fat distribution and microcirculation together. InShape improves circumference and skin quality alongside cellulite reduction. Lymphatic drainage clears metabolic byproducts the process releases. The combination outperforms any single modality.

What we use for cellulite & body contour

Clinical perspective

Cellulite is one of those concerns where we often have to explain why it is not just about weight. I see clients who are very fit and lean who have significant cellulite, and clients who are heavier who have very little. The fibrous connective tissue component is the key, it has nothing to do with diet. EMTONE is one of the very few treatments that genuinely addresses the structural cause rather than just the fat layer, and that is why we invested in it.

In their own words

I absolutely loved it & would highly recommend the body balancer. I was a touch apprehensive as a male going into a new & very female dominated environment but I really shouldn't have been! From the moment I walked up to the entrance I was impressed. Everything about the place oozes high quality & I was instantly put at ease with a friendly welcome. Jaz was so welcoming, friendly & knowledgeable. She explained everything in a professional but fun way and instantly put me at ease. I will 100% be re-booking and my legs already feel so much better for the treatment.

Common questions

Frequently asked about cellulite & body contour

Can exercise get rid of cellulite?
Exercise improves overall body composition and can reduce the volume of fat pushing against the connective tissue bands, which may improve appearance to a degree. However, exercise cannot release fibrous tissue bands, restore microcirculation or change the structural architecture that causes cellulite. Clinical treatments address these mechanisms directly.
How does EMTONE work?
EMTONE delivers simultaneous radiofrequency energy and targeted pressure waves to the tissue. Radiofrequency heats the dermal and subdermal layers, stimulating collagen and elastin production and remodelling fibrous bands. Pressure waves improve microcirculation and lymphatic drainage. The combination targets all four contributing factors of cellulite: fibrous bands, reduced collagen, fat distribution and poor circulation.
How many sessions are needed?
A standard EMTONE course is four sessions over two weeks. Results continue to develop for up to twelve weeks after the final session as collagen remodelling progresses. Maintenance sessions are recommended at six to twelve months.
Is body contouring the same as fat reduction?
Body contouring and fat reduction overlap but are not identical. Fat reduction treatments such as Lipocontrast target fat cells directly to reduce volume. Body contouring treatments focus on improving shape, definition and skin quality alongside volume reduction. EMTONE focuses specifically on the structural components of cellulite. Your clinician will advise on which combination addresses your specific concern.
Are these treatments suitable after pregnancy?
Most body treatments are suitable after pregnancy, typically from around 12 weeks postpartum and once breastfeeding has ceased or where it is not a contraindication. A clinical assessment determines suitability. Many clients find that addressing tissue changes after pregnancy is one of the most valued uses of these treatments.
