How Lumecca IPL works
Lumecca is an advanced Intense Pulsed Light treatment that delivers high-energy light into the skin. The light converts to targeted heat, selectively breaking down excess brown pigment and sealing superficial blood vessels. At The London Road Clinic, it is used for concerns such as sun spots, rosacea, facial thread veins and post-acne marks. It can often deliver visible results in fewer sessions than traditional IPL.

Aftercare
Avoid sun exposure, use gentle skincare and daily SPF, and follow all post-IPL guidance. Pigmentation may darken briefly before naturally shedding as the skin recovers.
What the first week looks like
The part people are not ready for is that pigmentation gets darker before it goes. Sun spots come up like coffee grounds for a week or so and then shed. Every year someone books the week before a wedding and I have to say no. Give it a month and it is one of the most satisfying things we do.

One session, or a short course
The clinic is at 65 London Road, Newark-on-Trent, NG24 1RZ, with free parking at the front.
Many people see a change after a single session, and a course does more. So this sits between the one-off treatments and the long commitments: worth travelling for once, and manageable if it turns into two or three.
Newark sits where the A1 meets the A46, so the clinic is a short drive from Southwell, Bingham, Collingham and Bottesford, and within comfortable reach of West Bridgford, Radcliffe on Trent, Lincoln and Grantham.
Pigmentation darkens before it lifts, over roughly a week. It is a normal part of the process and it is visible, so book with that in mind rather than the week of an event.

Regulatory position
Licensed premises
These premises hold a Massage and Special Treatment licence covering laser and intense pulsed light, issued under Part IV of the Nottinghamshire County Council Act 1985 and granted after an inspection. Most of England operates no such scheme, so a clinic elsewhere can run a Class 4 laser without any licence at all.
Holding it requires an external Laser Protection Adviser, a named Laser Protection Supervisor, written Local Rules ratified independently, wavelength-rated eyewear worn in the treatment room, a bound record of every use, and every practitioner licensed individually as a named Authorised User. It renews annually. The licence and its conditions are available to view at the clinic.
