Laser hair removal

Work out the drive before session four, not during it

A laser course is six to eight sessions and sometimes more, spread across the better part of a year. That is not a sales structure, it is the hair cycle: a follicle responds to laser only while it is in active growth, and a share of yours is dormant on any given day. Anyone offering the same outcome in two sessions is describing something other than laser.

Which makes the fourteen miles worth thinking about at the start rather than four sessions in. The A1 run from Grantham takes around 20 minutes and ends at free parking rather than a city-centre meter. An extra small area takes about fifteen minutes in the room, so a lunchtime appointment is realistic; larger areas need longer. Sessions are booked against your hair cycle rather than a fixed calendar slot, so there is usually room to move one to suit the trip. Tell us when you book.

Between appointments you shave. Waxing, plucking and threading all remove the follicle the laser is aiming at, which quietly wastes the session you have already driven up for.

One thing worth knowing about where you have the treatment. Newark is in Nottinghamshire, and Part IV of the Nottinghamshire County Council Act 1985 makes a premises licence a legal requirement for any Class 4 laser used on the public here, with every operator named individually as an Authorised User. The clinic's licence was granted in August 2026 after an officer inspected the premises. Lincolnshire holds no equivalent Act, so a Grantham clinic has no licence to apply for and none to show you. That is the legal position rather than a judgement on anyone, and the useful question is what a clinic does when nobody is making it: what to ask about a laser clinic's licence.

Prices run from £65 for a single extra small area to £750 for a large-area course of six, set by the area treated and confirmed at your patch test. Every figure in between is published, area by area, on the treatment page. Prices include VAT.

Lip and facial filler

What the consultation is for, when you already know what you want

Most people arrive at a filler consultation having already decided. That is fine, and the consultation still has work to do. It confirms the volume you need rather than the volume a syringe holds, checks your history against the contraindications, and settles who is going to manage it if something goes wrong.

That last one is the part worth driving for. Filler carries a rare and serious complication called vascular occlusion, where product enters or presses on a blood vessel and cuts the blood supply to the skin it feeds. It is time-critical, and the window for reversing it is measured in hours. Dr Shahe Boghossian is a Medical Consultant registered with the General Medical Council (GMC 5204600) with a background in vascular surgery, and he assesses and prescribes every injectable plan here. The detail is written up rather than asserted: vascular occlusion and filler safety.

Filler is £240 per ml. A first lip treatment often uses part of a syringe rather than all of it, so the volume is agreed with you rather than sold to you. Swelling and tenderness for 24 to 48 hours is usual, the result settles over one to two weeks, and it typically lasts six to eighteen months depending on the area, the product and your metabolism.

Sometimes the answer is no. Where lips have lost definition or hydration rather than volume, more product makes the wrong problem worse, and a skin booster or polynucleotides may be the treatment that fixes it. Being told that is the point of asking a doctor rather than a price list.

Laura was fantastic and explained the treatment options for my thread vein. After having the treatment the explanation of after care was detailed. After two laser sessions and 2 reviews I am completely satisfied with the results and after being bothered by the thread vein for years I can now look in the mirror with satisfaction. All the staff I encountered within the clinic were friendly and polite and I would recommend using the clinic to friends and family. Thank you, Laura.

Questions about treatment and travelling from Grantham

How far is The London Road Clinic from Grantham?
Around 14 miles north up the A1, roughly 20 minutes. The clinic is on the A46 approach into Newark rather than in the town centre, so you come off the A1 and arrive at free parking at the front of the building. Long Bennington, Claypole and Foston are all on the route.
How much is laser hair removal near Grantham?
It depends on the area treated, and every figure is published on the treatment page. Prices start at £65 a session for an extra small area such as the upper lip or chin, and a course of six costs the same as five single sessions at every area size. Prices include VAT and the area is confirmed at your patch test.
How many laser sessions will I need, and how do I fit them in?
Usually six to eight, spread across several months, because a follicle responds only while it is in active growth. Sessions are timed to your hair cycle rather than to the calendar, so there is room to move an appointment to suit the drive. An extra small area takes around fifteen minutes in the room.
Are the clinic's premises licensed for laser treatment?
Yes. Newark sits in Nottinghamshire, where Part IV of the Nottinghamshire County Council Act 1985 requires a premises licence for any Class 4 laser used on the public and names each operator individually. Ours was granted in August 2026 after an inspection. Lincolnshire has no equivalent Act, so clinics in Grantham have no licence to apply for.
How much is lip filler, and what does the price cover?
Hyaluronic acid filler is £240 per ml, with the volume you need agreed at consultation rather than sold in advance. A first lip treatment often uses part of a syringe. Expect swelling and tenderness for 24 to 48 hours, a result that settles over one to two weeks, and longevity of six to eighteen months.
Who assesses and prescribes injectable treatment?
Dr Shahe Boghossian, a Medical Consultant registered with the General Medical Council (GMC 5204600) with a background in vascular surgery. He reviews and prescribes every injectable plan. Filler's most serious complication is vascular occlusion, where product enters or compresses a blood vessel and restricts blood supply to the skin, and recognising it early is a vascular skill.
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. All injectable treatments require an in-person consultation with our prescribing clinician before treatment is agreed, in line with current GMC, NMC, GPhC and GDC guidance, and all injectable treatments are for patients aged 18 and over. Laser begins with a patch test, which happens before your first session rather than at it.
Is Emsella available to patients travelling from Grantham?
Yes, and it is the treatment people most often drive furthest for. Emsella contracts the pelvic floor while you sit fully clothed, delivering the equivalent of 11,200 Kegel exercises in 28 minutes. The course is six sessions over three weeks at £120 each or £600 for the course, and we can group the two weekly sessions to suit the trip.
Does laser hair removal work on blonde, grey or red hair?
Poorly, and it is worth knowing before you commit to a course. The laser finds pigment in the follicle, so white, grey and true blonde hair gives it very little to target, and red responds weakly. Dark hair on lighter skin responds best. Hair type and skin tone are assessed at the patch test.
How do I book from Grantham?
Book online via Fresha using the link on this page, message us on WhatsApp (07572 988029) or call 01636 680767. Consultations run Monday to Thursday until 20:00, with Saturday and some Friday morning appointments. Say you are driving up the A1 and we will place appointments where the road is quiet.

Ready to book?

A consultation is the right starting point, and for laser it includes the patch test. We will confirm which area applies, what the course costs and how long it takes, and say so plainly if something else would serve you better.
