Every course price below buys three sessions. Energist's own protocol is three to six, so your clinician may recommend more after seeing how your skin responds, and the cost of any further session is confirmed with you before it is booked. Each price covers your treatment at whatever energy setting your clinician selects for your skin, and nothing is added on the day for a higher setting. Maintenance applies within twelve months of a completed course.

The treatment
How NeoGen Nitrogen Plasma works
Radiofrequency passes through medical-grade nitrogen and ionises it into plasma. The handpiece releases that plasma as short thermal pulses, and your skin absorbs the energy at the surface. A laser or IPL needs a colour to aim at, a vessel or a patch of pigment. Plasma needs nothing. The energy lands evenly across everything the handpiece passes over, so the whole treated area is covered with no untreated skin left between microcolumns. Nothing is vaporised either. Your outer layer dries out and stays where it is, working as a dressing while new skin builds underneath, and separates on its own over the following days. No needle enters the skin at any point, which is what lets your clinician work up to the lash line. Patients often confuse this with our Plaxel+ plasma pen. That device draws a fine electrical arc to mark individual points and lift a small area of skin, and it is a shorter, cheaper, more local treatment.

After your appointment
Aftercare
Keep the area clean and dry, and let the treated skin come away in its own time. Do not pick it and do not exfoliate: that layer is protecting new skin underneath. Use a bland moisturiser and daily SPF, and stay out of direct sun while it settles. Redness and dryness mean the treatment is doing what it should. Your clinician will tell you when to restart make-up and your usual skincare, and that point depends on the setting used and the area treated.
Why we brought it in for the eye area
Everything else we own to resurface skin stops somewhere short of the eyelid. Needles cannot safely reach the lash line. Light-based devices need a colour to aim at. Plasma needs neither, so your clinician can work in the one part of the face where the skin is thinnest and the options thinnest with it.
The evidence points the same way. A randomised controlled trial of eighteen people treated one side of the face over three sessions and left the other alone. Evaluators who did not know which side was which scored the treated one better for lines and for pigmentation. Energist helped fund that study, and it remains the only randomised evidence behind the device, so read it as a good signal rather than a closed case.
The recovery, before you book anything
Nitrogen plasma gets sold as a light-touch treatment. The studies are less relaxed about it than the brochures.
In the low-energy study, where eight patients had three treatments at the gentler settings, skin had re-epithelialised by day four and patients put the redness at six days on average. The first session took nine days to settle, against four and five for the two that followed. At the higher settings used in the acne scarring study, skin bronzed and then peeled over four to six days.
Book a quiet week for your first session. The dry layer that forms is doing a job, holding over the new skin while it builds, and picking at it undoes several days of healing in a minute.
When we will point you at Fractora instead
Come to us about established scarring, rough texture or laxity across the face and Fractora is the better answer. It reaches deeper, the evidence behind it is stronger, and it starts at £400 per session.
NeoGen earns its place on two counts. Nothing enters your skin, which some people care about more than any clinical argument, and it reaches the eyelid. That is why we lead on the eye area and the lines above the lip rather than pitching it at everything.

Through the first months of NeoGen at the clinic, Suzy Bourne oversees every treatment we carry out with it. She is Energist’s head of UK training, so the clinician who teaches this device to practitioners around the country is working alongside ours while your skin is treated.
We asked Energist for that arrangement before we agreed to bring the device in. A resurfacing device is at its least predictable in the first weeks a clinic uses it, and the settings that suit your skin are a judgement rather than a dial. Having the person who wrote the training make that judgement is worth more to you than a faster route into the diary.
