NeoGen from Lincoln and Grantham: Planning a Course Around the Drive
A NeoGen course is a consultation, then three sessions over six to twelve weeks, each followed by several days of red, flaking skin. How to plan that from Lincoln, Grantham and the villages between, and what to do if something worries you once you are home.

For one appointment, the drive from Lincoln or Grantham is not worth a second thought. NeoGen is not one appointment. A course is a consultation and then three sessions, each three to six weeks apart, and each followed by several days of red, dry, flaking skin. That is four trips, the three treatments alone spanning six to twelve weeks, and three of them end with a drive home looking like you have had something done.
All of that is manageable if you plan the course before you book it, and this article sets out how. The clinical detail sits on the NeoGen treatment page. What follows is the practical shape of a course for anyone reading from Lincoln, Grantham, Sleaford or the villages between.
The drive
The clinic is at 65 London Road, Newark-on-Trent, NG24 1RZ, on the A46 approach into Newark rather than in the town centre. There is free parking at the front, so there is no multi-storey or meter at the end of the trip.
- From Lincoln: about 20 miles south-west on the A46, under half an hour. North Hykeham, Waddington, Bracebridge Heath and Skellingthorpe are on or near the route.
- From Grantham: about 14 miles north on the A1, roughly 20 minutes. Long Bennington, Claypole and Foston are on the way.
We are open from 09:00 to 20:00 Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 16:00 on Friday and 08:00 to 14:00 on Saturday.
Why the dates are fixed in advance
Through the introductory period, Suzy Bourne, Energist’s head of UK training, oversees every NeoGen treatment we carry out, working alongside your own clinician. Treatment days are built around the days she is in clinic with us.
For anyone travelling, that helps. Your consultation can be booked whenever suits you, and at that appointment your clinician confirms the area, the setting and the likely number of sessions, then maps the course onto her clinic days. You leave knowing every date, so you can plan the drives, the time off and the week afterwards in one go.
Planning each session around the recovery
The recovery is what decides your calendar, more than the treatment itself.
In the published low-energy study, the skin had re-epithelialised by day four and patients reported redness for six days on average. The first session took longest to settle, nine days in that study, against four or five for the sessions that followed. At higher settings the skin bronzes before it peels. The day-by-day recovery guide sets out what the studies recorded for each stage.
So for anyone driving in:
- Book your first session before a quiet week. Not the week of a wedding, a work presentation or a holiday.
- Expect to drive home with red, warm skin. Bring sunglasses, and a hat if the day is bright. Treated skin needs to stay out of direct sun while it settles.
- Leave make-up and your usual skincare until your clinician says so. That point depends on the setting and the area, and you will be told it on the day.
- Put the next date in your diary before you leave. Sessions sit three to six weeks apart, so it is easy to lose track of the course between visits.
Once you are home
Living half an hour away does not change who looks after you. Redness, dryness, tightness, bronzing and flaking are all expected, and none of them needs a trip back to the clinic.
Ring the clinic if you have spreading pain, swelling that gets worse after the first few days, any discharge, or anything that looks like a cold sore developing. If you are prone to cold sores, tell us at consultation, before any session is booked.
What it costs
A single session costs from £350 for the lip lines or the eye area, up to £795 for the face, eyes and neck. A course of three costs from £895 to £1,995 depending on the area. Every price includes VAT, and nothing is added for a higher setting. The NeoGen cost guide sets out every area and what moves the price.
